Crafting Creative Collisions

Collider is the new Wellington City programme managed by BizDojo which aims to transform the city into a Smart Capital.

Launched fully in January this year, the programme has already held nearly 100 activations and had over 2,300 curious souls interacting with a wide variety of Collider offerings... from community meetup groups relating to the Internet of Things, to roundtables with international guests to the city (like the US Ambassador for Switzerland); from workshops on leadership, SEO, video brief writing, financial literacy, and investment sessions to one-to-ones with visiting experts as an opportunity to get deeper into specific topics.

The purpose of the programme is to:

  • Connect with likeminded creative, digital and tech entrepreneurs
  • Collaborate on projects in our coworking community 
  • Converge with thought leaders who'll inspire action

Funded by Wellington City Council, Collider's focus is to provide a proverbial scaffold which both supports (not replicates) the existing curricula of activities in the city and fills the gaps with new capability-building opportunities to support and grow the capital's tech, digital and creative industries.

The learning gained from the current programme has influenced the work which has already started on year two. The current themes (International Market Access, Leadership, Content Creation / Storytelling, Digital Skills Upgrade, Cashflow, Funding, Marketing Strategy, Innovation, International Speakers, and Community Events) will be simplified, and more specific time will be spent crafting new opportunities around Connecting, Collaborating and Converging.
