Stop, Collaborate and Listen

Each BizDojo space is overseen by a community manager —

a genetically engineered yes person, ready to assist with anything from early-stage growth, training, funding, incubation, and events, to support, mentoring, and collaboration.

Biz Dojo residents hail from a wide range of backgrounds, professions, and nationalities. This mix is loosely engineered by Community Managers to help create useful synergies, maximise collaboration opportunities, and generally increase momentum of the group at large.

The community manager is an enabler of networks; a can-do person to whom people skills come naturally, a great first point of contact for all things business related, and most important of all, the person who calls happy hour on a Friday afternoon.

Dominique Rowe, Creative Copywriter / Journalist, Ink*Horn

"As a newcomer to Auckland, I was plugged straight into a thriving network of small business operators."

Kristin Hetze, Freelance Media Designer and Illustrator

"Because of the mix of people and industries, it’s less about competition, and more about support and encouragement, community, assistance."

Margaret Lewis, The Big Idea

"So many people, so many bright ideas - being at the Biz Dojo makes us feel really connected in the real world as we spend so much time in the virtual world. Its great to have a physical home."

Tim Dawson, Director/Designer, Ghost Street

"I like the atmosphere and talking to different people from different backgrounds. The surroundings are cool, but they're not why I'm here. It's all about the people, having a separate place away from home and bouncing ideas around with other residents which naturally leads to collaborations."

Zoe Macfarlane, 1cover

"My company originally considered a serviced office for me to launch the NZ arm of 1Cover but a friend referred me to The BizDojo as an alternative. As soon as I saw the space, I knew it was a better environment to launch a business in — great networking opportunities, spacious, clutter-free office space and a friendly vibe all won me over."
